ViruZz and Gero Arias in negotiations to headline Spanish boxing super event

The Spaniard is set to face the Argentinian as the main event of the Spanish show

EXCLUSIVE: A number of sources have confirmed ViruZz and Gero Arias are nearing a deal to face off in the main event of La Velada Del Año VI. The upcoming event, following last year’s Twitch stream that reached over 100M views in its first few days and sold out the 70,000 seater Cartuja Stadium in Spain, will see its biggest main event yet, between Spanish and Argentinian superstars, each with over 10 million combined social media followers.

ViruZz, legally known as Victor Mélida Cambra, made his boxing debut on the premier La Velada Del Año event in 2021, where he defeated ‘Mister Jagger’ by a dominant unanimous decision. He then faced Gero Momo a year later on the same promotion, defeating him by technical knockout.

Following two consecutive wins, ViruZz, a year later, then travelled abroad, appearing on the UK-based influencer boxing promotion Misfits Boxing, on the undercard of KSI vs. Joe Fournier, facing American influencer boxer DK Money. The second round of this fight saw ViruZz in serious trouble, as a counter shot in the second round sent him to the canvas. After being dropped, ViruZz quickly recovered in what was a then incredible and shocking turn of events, as ViruZz knocked out DK Money in the same round, causing roars throughout the sold out Wembley Arena and earning ViruZz Misfits Boxing’s ‘Knockout of the Night’ bonus.

What should have been the peak of ViruZz’s career soon became riddled in controversy, as the Professional Boxing Association (PBA), a UK-based professional combat sports commission, who sanctioned the event, had conducted thorough drug testing of the event’s participants, and found that Cambra’s levels of Boldenone M1, a prohibited substance in professional sports, were 10x above the legal limit. The PBA subsequently suspended Cambra’s boxing license, overturned the fight’s result to a “No Decision”, and required him to pay an £8,000 fine to the Ringside Charitable Trust, as well as enrolling him in a full-time two-year comprehensive monitoring program with the Voluntary Anti-Doping Association (VADA).

After receiving this penalty from the PBA, ViruZz was very apologetic and accepted the consequences of his actions, completing his VADA enrollment, before returning to the ring over a year later, on La Velada Del Año IV, where he faced Chilean influencer Shelao, who had come off a win the previous year. A competitive fight saw ViruZz’s hand raised, the following year saw ViruZz face Argentinian influencer Tomás Mazza, who came off a recent incredible win on the Argentinian influencer boxing promotion Parense De Manos. In the hardest fight of ViruZz’s career, the final bell saw Victor’s hand raised in what was an extremely controversial decision win, which many fans criticise to this day.

ViruZz’s current record stands at three wins, 1 defeat, and one no-contest (3-1-0, 1NC), and is rated the #4 influencer boxer in the light heavyweight division by the Influencer Championship Boxing (ICB) sanctioning body.

Who is Gero Arias?

Following ViruZz’s controversial win, the end of 2025 saw Mazza return to Parense De Manos, to take on another Argentinian influencer, Gero Arias, on his boxing debut. This fight was a shock to all watching, as Mazza, who had been booked by all to win, had no answer for Arias’ clinical demolition, as he struggled to land any clean shots on Arias, resulting in Gero earning quite a comfortable win against Argentina’s prize influencer boxer.

Arias, while with no known background of combat sports experience, is a fitness influencer and calisthenics athlete whose content at times does relate to combat sports, e.g. “I boxed in Argentina’s most dangerous prison”. This background may have given him a better understanding of the sport to have flawless technique upon his boxing debut.

Gero’s record is currently 1-0, and has been rated the #4 in the super middleweight weight class by the ICB, and stands at #7 in their pound-for-pound rankings, just one place below UK megastar KSI.

Should this fight go through, it will certainly be a competitive match and entertaining watch, one that Arias would be expected to win. The winner of this match would certainly be a contender for the pound-for-pound best in influencer boxing.
